Using both banks of the Gongshui River as the stage, the county's whole core area became an open-air city theatre. County visitor numbers grew 512% over five years and tourism revenue grew 866%; the riverside old street went on to be named a national-level tourism & leisure district.

Lighting upgrade and full music-and-light show system for the two banks: planning, design and construction (lighting ceremony, narrative music show, personified-building show, tower show, themed laser show). System integration covers 3 km of waterfront, 200+ control units, nearly 40,000 fixtures and 100,000 pixels, including six-face "light-sculpture grade" lighting on the timber building cluster.

Taking Lichuan's folk song 《龙船调》 as its cultural motif, a city theatre was built at "Qingjiang Theatre · Sunset Rendezvous": sloped riverbank light screens, a semicircular screen, pathway projection lamps and a scroll-shaped sun. Content includes the 《龙船春韵》 light show and 10 karaoke tracks; six shows cycle every hour. Core works completed in 4.5 days.

An ecological garden themed on Père David's deer and the Yangtze finless porpoise, combining a glass walkway, mist, infrared sound sensing and online interaction. Named one of the expo's top ten photo spots.

Frequently asked

How much investment does a night tourism project need?
Product tiers run from ¥300k up to under ¥10M (Base ¥300–800k; Content ¥500k–1.5M; Smart around ¥1M+; Theatre Operations under ¥10M). Bespoke projects are assessed on site conditions, scale and content complexity. We recommend starting with a feasibility study — settle "whether, where and how big" before discussing budget allocation.
What does a feasibility study cover?
Four dimensions: site endowment (the "geography"); whether the water system and topography can form a theatre; which local culture can be translated into visual assets; and the investment-return case — answering "whether, where and how big" before "which fixtures and what content".
What is the difference between a light show and a lighting project?
A lighting project solves "being seen": base illumination, safety and static beautification. A light show solves "staying": narrative, music-driven performance that is interactive, iterable and inherently shareable. The two usually work together — lighting is the groundwork, the show is the content.
Our city has no river — can we still do night tourism?
Absolutely. Counties without a river or waterfront can take different routes, such as reactivating existing blocks and lighting pedestrian routes. City Story Theatre does not depend on a river or a building facade: point-line-plane screens plus AIGC content tell the story, free of site constraints. We assess the space first and recommend what actually fits — and if a light show is not the right answer, we will say so.
How long does delivery take?
Base tier (point-line-plane): 7–30 days. Content tier: 15–30 days. Flagship projects such as the Xuan'en two-bank scheme: 45 days from drawings to switch-on.
Can we hire you for design only, without construction?
We recommend full-scope delivery: when design and construction are separated, the result often suffers from the contractor's interpretation. We deliver design + equipment + installation + commissioning as one package so the effect lands 100%. Design-plus-system, or content licensing plus training, are also possible.
